Use the following materials for packaging, for a safe delivery

  • Tamper proof Polythene Bags
  • Corrugated boxes
  • Bubble Wrap
  • Plastic Bags

Packaging materials that should not be used

  • Paper bags/ envelopes/ brown paper bags or similar packaging bags etc. are not safe packaging.
  • Staplers (to seal the package)
  • The original packaging that covers the product should not be used for transportation purposes, and it is your responsibility to pack all products in a suitable way for transportation using a different packaging material for outer cover.

How to pack fragile products properly to prevent damages

1. Cover fragile items first with about 6 inches of bubble wrap.

2. Pack the covered product in a thicker box. (double wall box)

3. There should not be any empty space in the box which is containing the fragile product and if there is such empty space, cover it with bubble wrap or Styrofoam. (as the product does not move)

4. Label as "fragile" so that it is easy for other people to identify it during transport.

Packing instructions

  • Bottles containing liquids (perfumes, plastic bottles and other liquids) should be packed upright and the lid should be sealed.
  • Cover with polythene sufficiently to prevent leakage of liquids.
  • By packing liquid products in cardboard boxes, covering the box with bubble wrap, and covering the sealed box with a polythene cover, your parcel can reach its destination very safely.
  • Items like clothes should be packed in a polythene bag as the initial package and sealed with a thick plastic cover as the final package. (To prevent damage from weather and liquids)
  • Chipboard boxes that contain things like gifts and shoes are more secure when packed with bubble wrap and finally sealed in a corrugated box.
  • Always take care to use only the correct packaging materials.

Sealing of packages

  • It is very safe to packing your orders in tamper proof polythene bags
  • Top and bottom openings of all containers should be well sealed with tape.
  • Check the sealed containers for any holes or tears.

Packaging labelling

  • Packaging labels and our waybill should be affixed outwards in the same direction so that they are clearly visible.
  • In the relevant waybill, correctly state the recipient's name, full address, two telephone numbers and the initial amount that needs to be collected from the recipient (value of the goods +courier fee).

Things to consider when distributing flower plants

  • The roots of the plant should be securely packed with a plastic or polythene cover
  • The top of the plant’s head should be loosely covered with paper
  • Cover the whole plant securely with cardboard roll or bubble wrap
  • The plant should be packed in a box filled with soft, supportive packing material
  • The following types of labels can be used to indicate that the parcel contains live plants
Labels
  • To preserve the vitality of the plant, pack the plant in a polythene cover with exposed air windows to allow air to enter it
  • Avoid delivering aquatic plants or plants with water for delivery
  • Do not pack the soil in the planter pack it can spill out
  • Picked up parcels will be sent to the relevant Domex branches on the next working day
  • It may take between 2/3 days for the parcel to be delivered from the relevant Domex branch to the customer
  • Domex is not responsible for damage to live plants
